Bright beginnings at Cunningham Hill

Year 3 have spent the 1st half of the term settling in to their new school! We have been learning lots of new routines as well as learning our way around the school.

Our topic this term is ‘Food Glorious Food’ and, with this in mind, we have been finding out about the digestive systems in our Science lessons, thinking about hunting and gathering in our History lessons, salads in our Design and Technology lessons and instructions of how to make a salad in our Literacy lessons.

At the end of our D&T topic, we then made our own salad and got to take it home and eat it – yum!

We also went on three trips out - one to the cinema in Hatfield to watch the Ten Pieces short film produced by the BBC and two Chill Out sessions at Highfield Park.

During the first Chill Out day, we became nomadic hunter gatherers from the Stone Age, looking for a variety of objects that could be hunted and gathered. Thankfully, we didn’t manage to bring back any squirrels!

During our second Chill Out day, on the 5th November, we used a variety of natural resources to create firework collages.
